On 17 June 2026, the aWISH project was featured on Regional Rural, a programme broadcast by Rádio Regional do Centro (Central Region Radio) in Portugal and shared through Agroportal, one of the country’s leading agricultural news platforms.
During the interview, Sara Smith, representing CONSULAI, one of the partners of the aWISH project, introduced listeners to the project’s activities and objectives, highlighting how innovation, scientific research and practical tools can contribute to improving animal welfare in livestock production.
The interview provided an opportunity to raise awareness of the project among the Portuguese agricultural community, presenting aWISH to farmers, advisors, industry stakeholders and the wider public. Topics discussed included the importance of animal welfare monitoring, the role of scientific indicators, and how knowledge generated through European research projects can support practical improvements across the livestock value chain.
Media appearances such as this help strengthen the project’s dissemination efforts and ensure that aWISH results reach audiences beyond the scientific community, promoting dialogue and knowledge exchange on animal welfare across Europe.
