Hamburg, Germany — 11 September 2026
The day after its Final Event at EAAP 2026, the aWISH consortium gathered in Hamburg for its final Annual Meeting, closing out two days that brought together four years of work across six pilot sites in one place for the last time.
The morning opened with a welcome and General Assembly led by the project coordinator, followed by a round of final results and key messages from each of the project’s six work packages, giving partners a full picture of what four years of work had delivered.
The consortium then took a moment to look back on the project as a whole, with an interactive session capturing partners’ collective reflections on four years of work together. Attention then turned to what comes next, in a “Looking Forward” session covering four themes in turn: the continuation of pilot installations at the sites beyond the project’s formal lifetime, progress updates from the PhD students whose research has been tied to aWISH, the exploitation of the project’s technologies and Best Practice Guides by industry and other partners, and opportunities for future projects to build on aWISH’s foundations.
The meeting closed with feedback and concluding remarks from the Stakeholder Advisory Board, followed by closing words from the project coordinator, bringing the consortium’s final Annual Meeting to an end.
As aWISH’s Annual Meetings come to an end after four years, the consortium extends its sincere thanks to every partner, pilot site, Stakeholder Advisory Board member and the project’s Research Executive Agency Project Officer for their shared work, dialogue and support throughout the project. Their collective commitment has carried aWISH from its earliest ambitions to a body of results that will continue to support the welfare of pigs and broilers across Europe.
