The aWISH project is delighted to host a policy-focus workshop dedicated to advancing the role of animal-based welfare indicators (AWIs) in the ongoing reform of European Union animal welfare legislation.
Date: 5 September 2025
Time: 10:00 – 13:00 (CET)
Location: Online
Registration: Sign up here
Why Attend?
This workshop will provide an opportunity to present key findings from the aWISH project regarding the use of AWIs for broilers and pigs at slaughter. It will also serve as a forum for exploring how the most robust indicators can be incorporated into the definition of minimum welfare standards and integrated into both regulatory and assurance frameworks. The discussions will contribute to the EU’s Farm to Fork Strategy and the forthcoming revision of animal welfare legislation.
