On 22–23 September 2025, the aWISH consortium gathered in Warsaw, hosted by IGBZ PAN, for our fourth in-person Annual Meeting. The event brought together project partners and members of the Stakeholder Advisory Board to share progress, discuss challenges, and plan the next steps in improving animal welfare across Europe.
Over two days, participants explored advances in the aWISH data platform and innovative technologies for monitoring broiler and pig welfare. Discussions on validation approaches, pilot results, and ongoing case studies provided a clear picture of the project’s achievements and lessons learned.
PhD students also presented their latest research contributions, showcasing new insights that support practical, science-based improvements in animal welfare. Interactive sessions encouraged collaboration, with partners exchanging ideas on training, feedback loops, and best practices.
The meeting concluded with a focus on project exploitation, impact, and preparation for the final event, reinforcing the consortium’s commitment to turning research into real-world solutions. By combining expertise, innovation, and collaboration, aWISH continues to drive tangible improvements in animal welfare across Europe.
