On 9 March 2026, the aWISH project will host an online workshop titled “From Sensors to Welfare: Automatic Monitoring in Slaughterhouses”.
The workshop is organised within aWISH by Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in collaboration with University of Copenhagen (UCPH), Vetmeduni, Batallé, NunaSolutions, Innotech, and INNOVACC, and will bring together researchers, technology providers and stakeholders interested in animal welfare monitoring at slaughter.
The session will focus on how automatic monitoring technologies and animal-based welfare indicators can be applied in slaughterhouses, including how data can be aggregated and used for welfare assessment, certification and decision-making.
